Campbell mentions Milton’s ‘Paradise Lost’ in his Chapter in volume 4, Gaelic Ossian – Internal Evidence, &c., and, while I don’t have an old copy of that book, I thought I’d share the 3 volumes of ‘Dante’s Visions’ I have, as they always remind me of each other. Gustav Doré’s illustrations throughout are brilliant. I’m not sure if it’s generally known that Dante’s ‘Inferno’ wasn’t a stand-alone publication. I can understand why it was more popular than the others as the description of Dante and his pychopomp, Charon’s, travels through the 9 Circles of Hell is really dark and fascinating due to the author’s detailed depiction of each level of the fiery dimension. It’s the only one of the 3 volumes I’ve read though I may yet find time for some entertainment reading (any book not relevant to RSH).

It entirely depends what you or your buyer feels your set is worth. You’re possibly better off doing an internet search to see what others are selling their’s for, and in what condition their sets are in & do a quick comparison to your own. I’m not a book vendor, solely a collector so the more affordable a publication is, the better, in my opinion 😉
Prices constantly vary and really depend on what someone is willing to pay…I purchased my set for $116 to give you an idea… But at that time I saw some ranging from about $300-$500
