[Non-Scottish Publications Contents]
I treated myself to this publication as I’m a sucker for engaved illustrations. The author, as it would appear from his dedication alone, is a devout monarchist and Englishman, with the usual prejudices and misconceptions about Scotland that come from an 18th century person of his ilk. I’m sure it’ll make for an interesting process when it comes to typing up this book. I’ll likely not reproduce the long ʃes as I did for Guthrie’s ‘General History of Scotland‘ (1767), as that just made it take longer before I was able to post the completed chapters. This was difficult to scan, using both the flatbed A3 scanner and a handscanner, due to page contours, so I apologise for any blurry bits.
