‘Memorial Catalogue of the Old Glasgow Exhibition 1894’ (1896)

This was an exhibition that covered every part of Glasgow life. There were paintings of every eminent person and lithographs of scenery around the city, which has changed considerably as you can see. There were also daily use household objects exhibited. It was designed to give visitors an all-round view of Glasgow life from the past to their present.

So many of the pages are uncut, which makes the book feel far newer than it actually is. It’s a good thing separating uncut pages to me is like popping the foil on coffee or bubble wrap for others. I have a wee carved bone doodah to do it with.
