‘Life of Mary, Queen of Scots’ (1822)

This is the best account of the Queen of Scots’ life I’ve come across. That the author makes such an effort to stick to the facts, as taken from court documents, &c., as possible makes this, for me, a super detailed and thorough life of one of the most misrepresented and maligned regents in our country’s history.

One of the first books uploaded to Random Scottish History’s Facebook Page. When I originally obtained this 2-volume set both books were unreadable. They were falling to bits and the pages were (& still are) pretty fragile. Cameron bookbinders in Glasgow, who I go to with all books I obtain that are a little worse for wear, rebound these as similarly to the original as possible as well as adding stiff tape throughout to reinforce the pages some, thereby making it perusable.
