‘Edinburgh Almanack’ (1794)

This is the first of four books very generously donated to Random Scottish History by my parents-in-law, Julie and Hilton Eeles. This wee Almanack has last its cover and someone’s taken an opportunity to badly snip out the arms of Edinburgh from the publisher’s page. Regardless, it’s a fantastic wee reference guide to the people and running costs of Edinburgh in 1794. as well as containing other miscellaneous information. You can see for yourself it’d be some job recreating the text for a post so instead I’ve just scanned in as much as possible to the point where it starts giving information about ruling bodies of Europe, and other miscellany from outwith Scotland.
