‘Tales of the Highlands’ (1881)

This is one of the earlier additions to the collection. As there was an article in it relevant to the 16th of AprilBook of Days‘ post with regards the aftermath of the Battle of Culloden and the author T. D. Lauder was mentioned in Chambers’ Domestic Annals‘ chapter for William III., as well as his name appearing in a later date for the same  ‘Book of Days’, I thought I’d get it scanned in so the links were there. It’s full of great wee stories and anecdotes that I think folk’ll find of interest and though it’s a little short on illustrations, those there are are full-page in the same vein as that shown below, opposing the publisher’s page.
